When will my order ship?

Current processing time is 2-4 business days. Most domestic orders will ship via USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days) unless you opt to upgrade to Priority mail (2-3 days), which will have a similar delivery time. All packages are insured and will come with tracking information so you will be kept up to date during the shipping process.

Please keep in mind that even if you choose a faster shipping service there will still be a 3-5 day processing time. If you need an item rushed please message us before you place your order and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Please double check your address before placing an order. If an order is returned the buyer is responsible for the additional postage fees needed to resend

International Orders

Unfortunately, we do not currently ship overseas.

Returns and Exchanges

If you receive an incorrect or defective item, please contact us with your concerns and you will receive a refund or exchange. If your item appears to have been damaged during the shipping process we will send a replacement right away, but you must message us with a photo of the broken item including the packaging so that an insurance claim can be filed with USPS.

Returns or exchanges are accepted for undamaged and unused candles, but the buyer is responsible for shipping both ways. This can be expensive, so please read the item descriptions carefully before ordering. If you are unsure about a scent, consider ordering one of our smaller travel tins first! You must contact us within 7 days of delivery for a return.

Lost or Stolen Packages

All packages sent via USPS come with tracking information. Once the package is in transit we know as much as you do, so if your package appears to be lost or extremely delayed please contact your local post office for information first. Vespertine Studio is not responsible for errors made by the post office or packages marked as “delivered”.

CANDLE SAFETY AND BURNING TIPS

*Never leave a burning candle unattended

*Keep away from children and pets

*Before lighting, trim wicks to about ¼ of an inch to prevent sooting and uneven burning.

*If the flame becomes too big or starts flickering or smoking, extinguish the candle and check the length of the wick. Be sure to let the wick cool completely before trimming it.

*Keep wick trimmings and foreign materials out of the candle container. These may catch and spark.

* The first time you light your candle, let the melted pool of wax reach the edge of the container before extinguishing it.

*Containers may become warm. Burn candles on a heat resistant surface and away from flammable materials (Paper, tablecloths, curtains, etc.)

* Do not burn in a drafty area, and keep away from vents, fans, and open windows.

*Do not burn a candle all the way to the bottom. To be safe, stop burning when ½ an inch of wax remains.

*Do not burn candles for longer than 4 hours

*Take care when extinguishing candles, and never use water

Wax, wicks, and fragrance

Wax

All candles are hand poured to order using 100% all natural soy wax. Most candles on the market today are made with paraffin, a petroleum by-product. Soy wax burns clean, is non-toxic, and is biodegradable (made from soybeans!). Soy also burns much slower than paraffin, so your candles last longer than the typical paraffin candles. Soy wax has what is called a “memory”. The first time you light it, if you extinguish it too soon then every time you burn it the melt pool will follow that first impression made in the wax, resulting in candle tunneling, poor scent throw, and a much shorter candle life. To prevent this, let the melted wax pool reach the edge of the container before extinguishing it.

Wicks

All candles are made with only natural cotton wicks. These wicks are lead and zinc free. Be sure to trim your wick to ¼ of an inch to prevent sooting and uneven burning. If the candle flame gets too large and starts flickering, extinguish it, let it cool, and then give it a trim. Scissors are acceptable for this purpose, but it’s way easier when done with a wick trimmer. Be sure not to cut the wicks too short, however, as this might result in “tunneling” or a drowned wick.

 Fragrance

Vespertine Studio is committed to using only high quality and phthalate-free fragrance oils and essential oils. Keep in mind that larger candles give off a stronger scent throw than smaller ones. If you have any questions on the strength of certain scents feel free to reach out!
